Responsibilities:

  • As Japan Sales Director you are expected to be the regional leader for the Global Account and to drive all aspects of local engagement with the customer, including but not limited to the following: 
    • Relationship management with key decision makers among key clients.
    • Own execution of all sales functions and sales related communication with key clients.
    • Own and drive overall customer account management for key clients; ensure this is aligned with the global sales strategy for accounts.
    • Drive customer meetings with key clients; have a presence in key technical and service-related meetings with customer, including Technical Review Meetings (TRM) – Partner closely with Field Service and Technology/Process teams
    • Drive configuration management for customer tool orders and RFK to ensure alignment with Global account requirements and pricing structure. Take ownership of and drive the key client forecast for tools and RFK
    • Take ownership to track and drive hardware delivery/shipment schedules for new tools and RFK; ensure alignment with customer and FEMS on schedules and escalate gaps to Global Account as required
    • Provide leadership to local field service and process team to ensure priorities are aligned. Drive team alignment and team building internally to our local account team. Resolve any conflicts across the teams as necessary
    • Escalation Management: be the local escalation point of contact prior to Global Escalation. If Global escalation is needed, you are expected to trigger it and drive it
  • Work closely with the Global Account leadership to
    • Create and drive sales strategies for new product introduction and align them with the business units and ASM business development. Ensure strategic vision and tactical execution for key clients.
    • Engage Business Units, as required, to write Statements of Work for evals and align them with customer
    • Ensure new tools and upgrades (RFK) are scheduled, delivered, installed, and accepted/closed by the customer
    • Participate in and provide inputs for Sales & Marketing (Samba/PDU) and identify business opportunities with inputs from local process and field service teams
    • Collect competitor information and summarize it such that it can be shared internally
    • Sets yearly Account Team PDU goals and metrics
    • Own escalation Path for all issues among key clients – including process and service high level escalations
    • Manage account functions that do not fit solely in the Process or Service areas (budget, quality, office and physical resources, etc.)
    • Provide inputs to Global Account updates (weekly, Quarterly, etc) as needed

 Required Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in a large international Semiconductor-related or IT company, with Sales/Service background
  • Ability to influence decisions or processes impacting KPI performance
  • Structured and collaborative problem-solving skills leveraging analytics. Ability to work with and analyze data as necessary
  • A strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills, decision making skills, people management skills, project management skills. Ability to navigate a global, matrixed organization
  • Excels in Communicating, Customer Focus, Initiative and Results Drive – proven ability to present using PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Japanese and highly proficient in English (writing and verbal communication)
