We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world.  Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

Job's mission: Shape the future of semiconductor innovation

Are you ready for an international adventure that combines research, development, and application? In this role, you will start with a 12-month assignment at our R&D hub in Leuven, Belgium, where you’ll work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with global experts. Afterward, you’ll transition to a permanent position in Phoenix, Arizona, joining a dynamic team shaping the next wave of semiconductor advancements.

You’ll drive groundbreaking R&D projects, optimize semiconductor processes, and contribute to the development of advanced materials for logic, memory, analog, and power applications. Your work will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in semiconductor technology.

What you will be working on:

  • Collaborate on R&D projects to develop and optimize semiconductor processes such as oxidation, annealing, curing, ALD, PEALD, Epitaxy, and PECVD.
  • Design and execute complex experiments using methodologies like Design of Experiments (DOE) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM).
  • Conduct advanced materials characterization using techniques like XPS, SIMS, TEM, and XRD to ensure process efficiency and innovation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and actively engage in hands-on problem-solving.
  • Partner with customers and marketing teams to translate requirements into effective process solutions.
  • Publish technical findings, generate Intellectual Property (IP), and present innovations to professional audiences.
  • Facilitate process transfer by conducting customer demonstrations, providing training, and preparing detailed documentation.

What we are looking for:

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 0–7 years of combined education, research, or work experience with thin film deposition processes (e.g., ALD, PECVD, Epitaxy).
  • Expertise in materials characterization techniques, such as XPS, SIMS, XRD, TEM, and SEM.
  • Familiarity with electrical characterization techniques for CMOS devices.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) theory or application.
  • Background in integrating dielectric and metal films into advanced device technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to manage complex R&D projects, including scheduling and budgeting.

Apply today to be part of what’s next.

We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world. We do this with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through cutting-edge innovation, and driving the next wave of technological breakthroughs that shape how we live, work, and connect.
