This role will give you the opportunity to be part of ASM Global Trade Compliance team that has the responsibilities to ensuring ASM global businesses are conducted in compliance with the various export control laws and regulations, sanctions and customs regulations. Therefore, you will actively participate in developing the trade compliance program and provide trade compliance guidance and operations support to ASM stakeholders. 

In this role, you will report to the Global Trade Compliance Sr Manager. This role falls under the Legal department.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting regularly with and providing operational support and guidance on trade compliance, including the export control and customs compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Major daily work: Track and managing proactively the orders block release in SAP GTS system (with primarily focus on China transactions).
  • Developing and educating internal stakeholders on trade compliance knowledge, processes and best practices.
  • Performing internal self-assessment to ensure trade compliance activities are executed properly.
  • Documenting procedures and work instructions.
  • Execute and monitor the export controls necessary to ensure compliance
  • Work cooperatively and proactively with functional leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant export, customs, sanctions, laws and regulations
  • Establish a strong relationship with the ASM employees to ensure cooperation and assistance in the successful implantation of export control related projects
  • Conduct trade compliance training as required

Required Education and Experience:

  • Academic background includes a minimum of BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in trade compliance or export controls in an international environment.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in international trade compliance in an international environment
  • Sufficient knowledge of US Export Administration Regulation (“EAR”) (mandatory).
  • Experience related to assigning the ECCN/HTS determination and supporting export control licensing requests is a plus.
  • Preferred experience in high-tech or semiconductor Industry;
  • Experience in SAP GTS
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details and accurate in execution of any task;
  • Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction, and self-motivated and results-driven;
  • Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and global environment.
