This is a contractor position for 18 months.

ASM is recruiting for Materials Project Specialist for New Products Introductions (NPI) in our Global Operations unit located in Dongtan, South Korea.

You will be reporting to Sourcing Director and be part of a team driving sourcing strategies, cost reductions and Business Units (BU) alignment for NPI and transition of NPI into high-volume manufacturing (HVM).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for driving sourcing strategies, cost reductions and Business Unit (BU) alignment for NPI and transition of NPI into high-volume manufacturing (HVM)
  • Will be focal for engineering and BU for assigned products and must be able to manage across multiple functional groups to achieve common goals such as cost
  • Must be able to break down and report on detailed costed Bills of Materials (BOM), align supply chain strategies with commodity teams and align manufacturing strategies with global operations responsible for supplier selection to match the quality, delivery and cost
  • Perform opportunity analysis to identify projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement.
  • Negotiate with suppliers in regards to the contracts for lead-time(LT), quality, prices and terms and conditions
  • Make financial and risk assessments for critical suppliers

 

PREREQUISITES

Education

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance or other related fields is required. MBA preferred
  • APICS Certification, Lean Six Sigma Training, Negotiation certification, other Supply Chain related programs or Finance-background a plus.

Experience

  • 5-10 years' experience in supply chain / operation / project management / NPI
  • Experience in a Global work setting is preferable.
  • Experience managing people or programs in matrix environments
  • Semiconductor, capital equipment or related industry experience preferred

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Excel, PowerPoint and SAP experience required.
  • Excellent presentations and communication skills
  • Must be detailed & result oriented and be able to take initiative
  • Supplier negotiation & Stakeholder management experience a must.
  • Command of written and spoken English.
