Reporting to the Director Global Purchasing, the role of Manager Purchasing would lead a team of buyers to manage the below-mentioned duties and responsibilities:

 

What you will be working on

    • Responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the materials purchase, material control, and inventory control functions
    • Responsible for purchasing of all commodities
    • Responsible for resolving materials delivery issues Interact internally and externally with executive level management requiring negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy making bodies.

 

(Within ASM) Internal 

      • Manage supplies to meet production plans and customer demands
      • Assure inventory/supply plans are in place for supply continuity, minimal excess and obsolescence, and meeting the inventory turns goal
      • Review and approve purchases up to a specified dollar amount
      • Drive actions for improving supplier delivery performance
      • Review shortages and work with internal and external teams to minimize shortages
      • Creatively manage supplies through forecast, stocking policies,
      • Risk Buy and VMI programs
      • Resolve issues on vendor invoice, problematic goods receipt and returns to vendor
      • Work with cross-functional teams to improve processes
      • Monitor schedule and performance aspects of major suppliers
      • Ensure business controls are in place to comply with the company’s SOX requirements
      • Ensure processes are in compliance to ISO and other regulatory requirements Lead and build a strong team of buyers to manage above deliverables and maintain key performance metrics to support
      • Coaching and building team to meet deliverables in Purchasing
      • Lead in any other initiatives as given by supervisor

 

Outside of ASM (External here refers to Vendors, Suppliers, Customers, Clients)

    • Manage supplier relationships, business reviews and scorecards, if needed
    • Manage vendors to attain the desired performance level in terms of delivery and support services
    • Manage supplier’s performance to achieve required delivery and quality performance

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 10 years related industry experience in purchasing / production planning and supply chain management
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and experience in SAP system is highly desirable
  • Analytical with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, self-driven and able to work independently towards achieving company/group objectives
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and to work with a variety of offshore locations
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concepts
