Job's mission: Lead EHS innovation and excellence
As a Senior EHS Engineer for the EU Region, you will play a vital role in driving ASM’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence. Reporting to the Senior EHS Manager, you’ll lead initiatives that influence global policies and shape the future of EHS within the semiconductor industry. Based in Almere, Netherlands, with responsibilities extending across Helsinki and Leuven, you will contribute to fostering a hazard-free workplace while advancing ASM’s sustainability goals.

What you will be working on:
- Provide leadership in health and safety across a growing and dynamic organization.
- Influence global EHS policies and align them with local regulations and organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS and Sustainability policies to create a hazard-free workplace.
- Proactively advise management on EHS matters, offering strategic and tactical insights regarding regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain environmental programs, including hazardous material management and permitting processes.
- Analyze EHS metrics to identify trends and implement improvement plans to reduce risks and enhance performance.
- Collaborate with regional EHS managers to define and maintain globally aligned EHS procedures.
- Implement and continuously improve safety training programs, providing hands-on training where necessary.
- Lead safety incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions.
What we are looking for:
- BS/MS in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field, supplemented by an HVK certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Health & Safety within manufacturing or equipment servicing/design.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local occupational health and safety regulations.
- Experience with semiconductor fabs or high-tech industries.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
What sets you apart:
- Professional certification (Certified Safety Manager or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to influence without authority, engaging across diverse employee and management levels.
- Experience with safety practices involving chemicals and gases is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
Additional details:
- Travel: Less than 30% (predominantly within Europe).
- Work Environment: Includes cleanroom environments around semiconductor equipment and supporting facilities infrastructure.
