(Senior) Field Process Principal Engineer

Location:  Icheon, Korea 

 

Position Summary
As a Senior Field Process Principal Engineer, you will bring extensive expertise to lead process optimization projects and provide advanced technical solutions. This leadership role will influence both customer satisfaction and internal technology advancements. 

 

Responsibilities
•    Develop and implement advanced process solutions for semiconductor manufacturing.
•    Act as a technical lead for complex projects, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
•    Software simulation testing, customer software requests (SRS), initiate customer escalations to ensure customer timelines.
•    External field owner to drive and resolve process/system for related escalations and quality investigations. Responsible to documenting and publishing lessons learned internally and externally.
•    Collect, analyze & interpret complex data to determine appropriate action, develop action plan and ensure successful result.
•    Compile and maintain a scorecard for owned applications, create gap closure plan, and drive actions to completion.
•    Perform process and hardware development, manage new development, device integration, CIP, and troubleshooting independently. Responsible to ensure product specifications are met.
•    Understand customer integration strategy for multiple applications.  Identify potential business opportunities for ASM.
•    Work with other senior engineers and customers to understand customer technology roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, requirements and business issues/ challenges.
•    Proactively analyze issues & develop solutions to gain market share incorporating new information and concepts and recognizing symptoms that indicate underlying problem.
•    Drive strategy/alignment meetings with KPU to reorient customer engagement strategy as information becomes available.
•    Partners with customer to develop customer process and integration requirements.
•    Generate product documentation, presentations and technical reports and present to the customer at the leadership level and internal BU meetings.
•    Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

 

Required Qualifications
•    Master's or Ph.D in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Physics.
•    At least 12 years of work experience in thin-film deposition or related processes, preferably at an OEM capital equipment company.
•    Able to understand the importance of trusted partner to the customer.
•    Strong positive, customer focused, results oriented attitude.
•    Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills and able to present technical and marketing materials to a high standard (both Korean and English)
•    Proficient in MS office 
•    Able to provide supervision and able to work/lead in a team environment.
•    Work in constrictive clean room environment, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment.
