Your mission
As a Software Support Engineer with ASM’s EPI Product Support team, you will provide comprehensive software support for ASM tools and associated applications deployed at customer sites. This role combines hands-on problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and technical documentation to ensure seamless software functionality. With up to 25% domestic and international travel, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering innovative software solutions to a global customer base.
What you will be working on
Support Activities
- Install software, troubleshoot/debug issues, and conduct training sessions for customers and support engineers.
- Participate in ASM labs to evaluate software/hardware performance during Concept and Feasibility, Alpha, and pilot equipment manufacturing phases.
Troubleshooting
- Analyze logs, review software code, and identify root causes of issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, process, electrical, mechanical, and product safety engineers, to ensure successful resolution of support requests.
Technical Documentation
- Capture data related to software installation, configuration, and maintenance activities.
- Develop technical training content and documentation.
Project Management
- Drive software quality improvement initiatives by collaborating across regions and teams.
- Plan and execute projects, provide status updates, and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Create and deliver presentations, and contribute to concept and feasibility reviews, Alpha & Beta readiness meetings, and customer escalation reviews.
Other Activities
- Participate in software qualification assurance, continuous integration testing, and development practices.
- Support standard software development program management processes.
What we are looking for
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or another engineering field with a focus on software.
- 5–10 years of experience working with software and hardware.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- High motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or interest in Arduino, an open-source electronic prototyping platform for creating interactive electronic objects.
- Interest in new product testing and becoming a system-level expert.
