Joseph Ko, Senior Director of Sales at ASM, addressed the industry’s AI-driven evolution: “Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) is at the heart of AI advancement. As a market leader in ALD technology, ASM is well-positioned to drive innovation. With our upcoming new innovation and manufacturing center in Korea, we are gearing up to meet the surging global demand for AI-powered semiconductor solutions.”

Meanwhile, Hajin Cho, Director of Sales at ASM, highlighted Korea’s crucial role in ASM’s global footprint in an interview with THE ELEC: “Since 1989, Korea has become a key R&D and manufacturing hub for ASM. It’s one of only two sites globally integrating sales, R&D, and manufacturing. Our PEALD technologies, developed here, are driving major semiconductor breakthroughs.”

With Korea leading advancements in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) – a critical enabler of AI – we are strengthening our presence here to fuel the next wave of semiconductor progress.

Turning our attention to the recruiting zone – we hosted 12 recruitment sessions during SEMICON, drawing over 400 candidates eager to launch their careers in semiconductors.

A PhD student from Korea University, specializing in Materials Science and Engineering, shared his perspective: “My research focuses on enhancing plasma resistance in thin films. With industry trends shifting from PECVD to ALD, I saw ASM – the global leader in ALD – as the ideal place to apply my expertise. Beyond technical innovation, I’m drawn to ASM’s global work environment, where I can sharpen both my technical and communication skills.”

Echoing this sentiment, YoungSuk Lee, our Representative Director in Korea, emphasizes a positive approach to research and development challenges in an interview with Digital Times: “Do not be afraid of problems that arise during R&D. I encourage new ASMers to face these challenges with optimism. This attitude can lead to ‘Eureka’ moments at any time of the day and boost your confidence.”
