ASM’s 2023 Supplier Day
Building, recognizing, and rewarding supply chain excellence.
In early November, ASM held its 2023 Supplier Day in Suwon, South Korea. The gathering comprised two parts: a dedicated Supplier Sustainability Summit on the first day, followed by the full Supplier Day event on the second. In all, almost 150 supplier guests were in attendance, representing more than 80 suppliers from 13 countries.
At the Supplier Sustainability Summit, John Golightly (VP Sustainability and Global EHS) and Staci Curtis (Director Supply Chain Sustainability) showcased the key priorities of our ESG strategy as well as our efforts to promote and enable a sustainable supply chain for the wider semiconductor industry. We outlined our broad focus on accelerating sustainability, aiming to expand our positive impact on five key ESG pillars – innovation, people, planet, supply chain, and governance – while always acting hand in hand with our suppliers.
The events were the perfect opportunity to introduce Catalyze, an industry initiative to enable access to renewable electricity to our supply chain. ASM is a founding sponsor of this initiative which aims to drive forward our supplier’s sustainable strategies. The new program aims to expedite the semiconductor industry’s shift towards renewable electricity, and paving the way for a greener, lower-carbon economy.
Up next was Supplier Day, where ASM leaders Brian Birmingham (Senior VP Global Sales), Kent Rossman (Senior VP Global Operations), Steven Corvi (VP Global Supply Chain) and Allen D’Ambra (VP Global Spares & Service) shared our company’s market outlook, sustainability goals, developments in spares and aftermarket activities, our global operations, and much more.
Korea is one of ASM’s pivotal hubs for R&D and manufacturing and we were delighted to host Supplier Day there for the first time. We also recognized some of our standout suppliers with Supplier Performance Awards and PRISM Awards, for outstanding ESG leadership.
“It is important for ASM to sustain a long-term relationship with our suppliers. By reinforcing the value of collaboration, we are well-positioned to embrace the next wave of growth and boost resilience in our supply chain.” – Steven Corvi, VP Global Supply Chain

“For ASM, sustainability is to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. To achieve that goal, we must work together with our suppliers, based on a shared vision.” – John Golightly, VP Sustainability and Global EHS
We appreciate the special relationships we have with all our suppliers around the world and are happy to recognize these partners in 2023 for their exceptional performance, continuous progression, and contributions to ESG practices. As always, we look forward to continuing our long-term collaborations with our suppliers as we work together to stay ahead of what’s next.
