ASM stays ahead of what’s next with new hubs in Taiwan
At the close of 2024, we relocated our Hsinchu office and opened a new location in Kaohsiung, underscoring our commitment to Taiwan’s booming semiconductor industry.
The grand opening of the Hsinchu office, held on December 3, 2024, was attended by Hichem M’Saad, our CEO, Steve Lu, Taiwan General Manager, ASM, Matthijs van der Hoorn, Deputy Representative of the Netherlands Office Taipei, and key industry partners.
According to the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), Taiwan's semiconductor industry is projected to reach a total production value of NT$5.52 trillion by 2025, representing a 15.9% increase from this year. Among the key drivers of this growth is the rising demand for AI. The strong growth in AI, driving the demand for the most advanced semiconductors, of which many are manufactured in Taiwan. As a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and epitaxy (Epi) technologies, ASM plays a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge semiconductor processes. The relocation of the Hsinchu office and the establishment of the Kaohsiung office reflect our strategy to better support our customers in Taiwan.

We are committed to expanding our workforce in Taiwan, with plans to achieve double-digit annual growth in employee numbers over the next three years. Furthermore, our training center, established in 2023 at the Tainan Science Park, has become a pivotal hub for customer support training in Asia. Offering thousands of training hours each year, the center is expected to train nearly 300 engineers by the end of 2025, equipping them with the expertise needed to advance the industry,” stated by Steve Lu, Taiwan General Manager, ASM.
